Lending Library

The Learning Library Program at Lenoir City Elementary School is a wonderful initiative aimed at fostering a love for reading among kindergarten students. Every Thursday, dedicated Kiwanis volunteers transform into Librarians, bringing a mobile library experience directly to each classroom. with a cart full of diverse books, children are given the opportunity to independently select a book that piques their interest. This process not only empowers young learners to make their own reading choices but also encourages responsibility as they manage their borrowed books. Teachers provide folders containing helpful reading tips for parents, ensuring that the reading experience extends beyond the classroom into the home. This effort creates a nurturing environment that celebrates literacy and encourages lifelong learning.

Early Childhood Literacy

The Early Childhood Literacy Program at Lenoir City Elementary School is designed to promote books and reading among Pre-Kindergarten children. Held every other Thursday during the school year, this program complements the Lending Library initiative, providing a literacy experience. Volunteers read aloud to the children, capturing their attention and inspiring their imagination.

Thank you to our volunteers from Kiwanis Club of Tellico Village and Pilot Club of Lenoir City for helping our office have a great morning with Lending Library 📚for the Kindergarten students at Lenoir City Elementary School! This program allows each Kindergarten student to check out a book to take home and read with their families each week. We look forward to a great year of lending out books!
