We contribute both financial resources and volunteer efforts to this program. It supports students at Loudon Elementary School who are in need. Our members pack bags filled with nutritious snacks from the four essential food groups twice a month. The packing begins the Friday following a club meeting at 9:30 a.m. and is typically completed by 10:30 a.m. Teachers then discreetly distribute these snack bags to the children. Second Harvest manages the purchase and delivery of the food items directly to the school.

Our club is made up of individuals from all walks of life. Their diversity and commitment are the fabric of our organization. They are dedicated to, "Making a difference in the lives of children. One child and one community at a time."
On the beautiful autumn morning of October 3, 2026, members of the Kiwanis Club of Tellico Village gathered at Premiere Residences to honor the enduring legacy of Al Porell.
As a founding member of the club since its inception in 1999, the dedication of the bench served not only as a tribute to his many contributions, but also as a comforting reminder of his warm presence, which resonated deeply with all who knew him.
Attendees reflected on his generous spirit and the countless lives he touched, ensuring his memory will continue to inspire for generations to come. The bench stands as a testament to Al's enduring impact and the cherished memories he left behind.
Yvonne Porell, Al's wife, received both the Legion of Honor Award and the Distinguished Service Award. These accolades were bestowed in recognition of Al’s unwavering commitment and invaluable contributions to the Kiwanis organization. The awards were presented by the club’s Immediate Past President, Andrea Johnson. ... See MoreSee Less
We celebrated our club's past accomplishments and look forward to continuing our mission: "Making a difference in the lives of children. One child and one community at a time." On October 6, 2026, our esteemed member and former 2025-2026 Lt. Governor of KY-TN District Division 4, David Cloulter, led the installation ceremony for new officers and directors who will steer our club through the Kiwanis year 2026-2027. This event marked a significant moment of reflection and celebration, as we honored the achievements of the past year and charted a course for future endeavors. Our commitment remains steadfast to our mission. With renewed energy and leadership, we are eager to continue our impactful work, fostering positive change and supporting the well-being of children and communities. ... See MoreSee Less
The Bench for Caps Program had an impressive day on September 30, 2026, successfully delivering nine benches across various locations. The benches were delivered to diverse areas, including Loudon, Lenoir City, Sweetwater, Madisonville, and Tellico Plains, showcasing the program’s reach and dedication. Each delivery represented a collaborative effort, illustrating the power of recycling and community engagement.
2,200 non-recyclable plastic caps and lids were used to manufacture the 11 benches.
Weekend Food 4 Kids
We contribute both financial resources and volunteer efforts to this program. It supports students at Loudon Elementary School who are in need. Our members pack bags filled with nutritious snacks from the four essential food groups twice a month. The packing begins the Friday following a club meeting at 9:30 a.m. and is typically completed by 10:30 a.m. Teachers then discreetly distribute these snack bags to the children. Second Harvest manages the purchase and delivery of the food items directly to the school.

Kiwanis Club of Tellico Village
