El Proyecto Amtryke comenzó cuando reconocimos que muchos niños de nuestra zona podrían beneficiarse de tener un triciclo adaptativo pero sus familias no podían permitirse uno. El Club Kiwanis de Tellico Village ha estado proporcionando triciclos adaptativos Amtryke desde 2010 a niños que viven con condiciones que les impiden usar un triciclo o bicicleta convencional para recreación o terapia. Idealmente, los niños de todas las capacidades deberían tener la oportunidad de hacer ejercicio y diversión que puede ofrecer montar en bicicleta o triciclo. Equipamiento
Un triciclo Amtryke puede ser operado a mano, con el pie o con el pie y la mano. Cada Amtryke puede configurarse aún más para las diferentes capacidades físicas y limitaciones que tiene cada niño. Fuentes para candidatos: El proyecto se basa en identificar los niños que necesitan un triciclo adaptativo. Nos ponemos en contacto con escuelas, clínicas y padres para identificar los niños. También animamos a las familias de niños a los que hemos ayudado a mencionar nuestro proyecto a otras familias que puedan necesitar ayuda.
Financiación: Como en cualquier proyecto, la financiación es un reto. La financiación ha sido proporcionada mediante donaciones privadas a la Fundación Kiwanis de Tellico Village (la fundación benéfica 501(c)(3) de nuestro club), apoyo de empresas locales y subsidios. Nuestro costo promedio de compra y envío de un triciclo, accesorios especializados y casco es aproximante mil dólares.
Recepción y procesamiento de solicitudes: Antes de aceptar una solicitud de un triciclo, revisamos las solicitudes para verificar la elegibilidad del menor. Nuestro programa está dirijido a niños de 18 años, o menos, cuya familia no puede permitirse el equipo. Además, es importante que el niño tenga acceso fácil a lugares donde pueda obtener el uso previsto del triciclo y los medios adecuados para transportarlo según sus nececidades. Estos requisitos se confirman antes de que se tome una decisión sobre la continuación de la solicitud. Pedido de Triciclos: Una vez aprobada la solicitud, el Club Kiwanis de Tellico Village se encargará de todos los arreglos para la compra, entrega y montaje de los Amtrykes. Contamos con una estrecha relación con Amtryke LLC, que diseña y fabrica triciclos Amtryke, y también con un capítulo de AMBUCS (American Business Clubs), que posee y opera Amtryke LLC. Pedimos nuestros triciclos con un descuento considerable en el comercio minorista y son entregamos desde Amtryke LLC en Carolina del Norte.
Presentaciones: Coordinamos con la familia para programar la presentación del triciclo al niño. Algunas presentaciones se hacen durante una reunión del club y otras de forma más privada. Estas opciones se discuten con la familia. Las fotos y vídeos se toman únicamente con el permiso de los padres. El Proyecto Amtryke comenzó cuando reconocimos que muchos niños de nuestra zona podrían beneficiarse de tener un triciclo adaptativo pero sus familias no podían permitirse uno. El Club Kiwanis de Tellico Village ha estado proporcionando triciclos adaptativos Amtryke desde 2010 a niños que viven con condiciones que les impiden usar un triciclo o bicicleta convencional para recreación o terapia. Equipamiento

Fuentes para candidatos: El proyecto se basa en identificar los niños que necesitan un triciclo adaptativo. Nos ponemos en contacto con escuelas, clínicas y padres para identificar los niños. Financiación: Como en cualquier proyecto, la financiación es un reto. The players benefit from community and sponsor donations,receiving uniforms and participation at no cost. Our club proudly supports thisendeavor with financial funding and volunteers, embodying the spirit ofinclusivity and community engagement that defines the Without Limits Program.
