Since 2010, the Kiwanis Club of Tellico Village has been helping meet certain therapeutic needs of children with disabilities from families unable to afford this expensive equipment. The solution we provide to these children is an Amtryke therapeutic tricycle. As of April 2024, our club has presented 85 tricycles valued at approximately $42,000 to children age 18 and younger who are courageously living with disabilities affecting their motor skills and strength.
Amtrykes are all about abilities, focusing on what children can do, not what they can’t do!

Our Kiwanis club provides both financial and manpower support for thisprogram which presently serves disadvantaged students attending Loudon ElementarySchool. Our members pack bags of healthysnacks from the 4 food groups. Teachersdistribute the bags, confidentially, to these children on Friday’s when schoolis in session. Food is purchasedthrough Second Harvest; who deliversthe items directly to the school.

To keep these items out of our landfills, drop them off at the Community Church in Tellico Village. There are two tubs located under the main staircase for the caps and lids.
Since the Fall of 2019 our Buddy Bench Program has kept 10,000 pounds of non-recyclable plastic caps and lids out of landfills; which astonishingly equals One Million pieces of these non-recyclable items.
